“What are your own conclusions about nirvana?” That was a question from a quiz for the course on the Heart Sutra at Buddha Dharma University.
My answer was as follows:
Haha… to be honest, I have none whatsoever.
That was my first answer. Then felt the need to elaborate a bit more.
Haha… to be honest, I have none whatsoever. Not on a personal level. I could interpret what is meant by nirvana in the sutra, but I think you’re asking my own personal thoughts about nirvana. And I really don’t have any. Now that I’m trying to think of nirvana, my mind stays blank. It’s kind of not on my radar.
That struck me as unusual, as I’m usually rather opinionated and relish the challenge of trying to figure things out.
